Tramuntana Legal is a Barcelona law firm of around fifteen lawyers whose regulatory group advises Spanish public administrations and education providers on the EU AI Act and data protection. Its clients include regional government departments deploying automated decision tools, municipalities evaluating chatbot procurement, and universities and edtech companies using proctoring or adaptive learning software. The firm's work is almost entirely on retainer, with a monthly fee covering a set volume of advice, the review of procurement specifications and supplier contracts, and support during a conformity assessment when a public body is itself the deployer of a high-risk system. Tramuntana is often asked to reconcile AI Act obligations with existing GDPR impact assessments and transparency duties under Spanish public sector law, and produces the legal documentation for both. It does not perform technical audits, bias measurement or ISO 42001 implementation, and does not publish a price for gap analyses because scoping varies with the number of systems and the procurement stage. Lawyers work from the Barcelona office and travel to client premises across Spain; advice is given in Spanish or English. Engagements usually start with a short paid scoping memo before a retainer is agreed.
