Anacostia Readiness Institute is a Washington, DC training provider that teaches AI governance to federal programme staff, defense contractors and the compliance teams of companies that sell to them. It runs a catalogue of instructor-led courses built around the NIST AI RMF, with additional modules on ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act for organisations that export or partner internationally. Public sessions take place in a classroom near Navy Yard and online, and run from a one-day executive overview to a five-day practitioner course that ends with a written assessment. Private cohorts for a single agency or company are the larger part of the business and are priced per cohort rather than per seat, which is why the institute does not publish price bands. Alongside training, a small assessment team offers readiness reviews that measure an organisation's governance practices against the RMF profile or the 42001 clauses and produce a plan the client's own staff can execute. The institute's lead instructor holds the IAPP AIGP and its assessment lead is a certified ISO/IEC 42001 lead auditor. It does not implement controls, draft policies for clients or certify anyone, and its courses are not accredited by any professional body. Staff hold or have held security clearances where course content requires it.
