About

Leiekant Assurance is a Ghent consultancy of seven people focused on how insurers, lenders and fintech platforms use models in pricing, underwriting, claims handling and credit decisions. The firm's work sits at the point where the EU AI Act's high-risk rules meet the model-governance practices these companies already run for actuarial and credit models. A typical first engagement is a gap analysis of a single decision system: how it is classified under the Act, what the ISO/IEC 42001 clauses would require of the organisation around it, and where existing model validation already covers the ground. Bias audits are carried out as standalone projects and test outcomes across protected characteristics using the client's own data, with a written methodology agreed before any analysis begins. Readiness assessments follow the same structure at organisation rather than system level. All work is fixed-scope and priced per project, with gap analyses generally between five and fifteen thousand dollars; the firm does not sell retainers. The team works entirely remotely with clients across Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg, in Dutch, French or English. Leiekant does not offer legal advice, does not certify, and does not build or retrain models.
