Kiribako Compliance Studio is a Tokyo consultancy that helps Japanese manufacturers and their software subsidiaries govern the AI embedded in products, factory automation and quality inspection systems. Many of its clients export industrial equipment to Europe and have discovered that the EU AI Act, in combination with the Machinery Regulation, will require documented risk management and human oversight for AI-driven safety functions. The firm's twenty or so consultants come from manufacturing quality assurance and ISO 9001 auditing rather than pure IT, which shapes how they work: gap analyses map ISO/IEC 42001 onto the client's existing quality management system so that a single set of procedures satisfies both. Gap analysis and readiness assessments are fixed-fee projects between $15,000 and $50,000 and take six to twelve weeks, longer where multiple plants are in scope. Implementation support is quoted separately once the gap report is accepted. Kiribako does not perform certification audits, does not represent clients before EU authorities, and does not publish retainer pricing. Consultants regularly work on site at plants in the Kanto and Chubu regions and can deliver in English for overseas headquarters. Written deliverables are produced in Japanese with English summaries.
