Isla Marwick is an independent ISO/IEC 42001 lead auditor working from Edinburgh entirely by remote delivery. She splits her time between contracted audit work for certification bodies, where she acts as a lead or team auditor on stage 1, stage 2 and surveillance visits, and direct engagements with organisations preparing for certification. The direct work comes in two forms. A gap analysis is a fixed-price desk review of an existing management system against every clause and Annex A control, returned within ten working days with a prioritised list of nonconformities. A readiness assessment is a mock audit run over two or three days, with interviews conducted exactly as a certification body would run them and a closing meeting that rehearses the findings. Everything else is billed by the day. She works with small and mid-sized organisations across any sector, typically those with fewer than five hundred staff, and takes on international clients where meetings can be held in a European time zone. She does not offer implementation support or write policies for organisations she may later audit, and she keeps a public list of the certification bodies she is contracted to.
