Certalpes Certification is an accredited certification body based in Lyon that audits management systems against ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27001, on their own or as a combined audit where a client already holds a 27001 certificate. It does not consult, implement or advise; the separation is a condition of accreditation and its auditors will decline to recommend controls during an audit. A typical certification cycle starts with an application review and quotation, followed by a stage 1 document review, a stage 2 onsite audit, and then annual surveillance visits leading to recertification in year three. Audit days are calculated from headcount and the number of AI systems in scope, so pricing is only issued once the application form has been completed. Auditors are employed rather than subcontracted and are spread across Lyon, Paris, Toulouse and Brussels; audits outside France are staffed with auditors who speak the client's working language where the pool allows. Certalpes works with software companies, industrial groups and service providers of any sector, and accepts applications from outside the EU provided the sites can be visited. Lead times from application to stage 1 are currently six to ten weeks.
