Bureau Veritas

Bureau Veritas is one of the large international testing, inspection and certification groups, founded in 1828 and headquartered in Courbevoie, outside Paris, with operations in more than 80 countries. Its certification arm audits management systems across quality, security and sustainability domains, and in July 2026 the group announced accreditation from Accredia, the Italian national accreditation body, to certify AI management systems against ISO/IEC 42001. The typical buyer is an organisation that has already built an AIMS, often alongside an existing ISO 27001 or ISO 9001 system, and needs an accredited third-party certificate to satisfy customers or regulators; Bureau Veritas presents the 42001 audit as something that can be integrated with those existing certifications and ties the standard to EU AI Act preparation in its own announcement. It has at least one publicly named 42001 client: Dubai Police, whose AI management system certification was announced in May 2025. Audit stages, day rates and prices are not published; engagements are scoped through a contact form. As an accredited certification body it audits rather than implements, so organisations still building their AIMS need a separate consultancy before certification.
