URM Consulting is a Reading-based governance, risk and compliance consultancy, in business since 2005 and part of Cooper Parry since October 2025, that has added ISO/IEC 42001 and EU AI Act services to a long-standing ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2 and business continuity practice. AI engagements typically start in one of two ways: a gap analysis of an existing management system against ISO 42001, or an EU AI Act applicability assessment that works out whether the client acts as a provider or deployer and how its AI systems are risk-classified. From there the firm supports AIMS implementation and AI impact assessments, performs internal audits of the management system, and runs an introductory ISO 42001 training course. Work is scoped as consultancy days delivered remotely or on site, with stated emphasis on transferring knowledge to the client's own team. URM's role is consultancy and internal audit rather than certification: the formal ISO 42001 assessment is carried out by the client's chosen certification body. The firm, which fields more than thirty-five consultants, also sells the Abriska risk software line, which sits outside the advisory scope of this listing.
