The DPO Centre

The DPO Centre is an outsourced-officer firm that built its business on fractional data protection officers and now runs the same model for AI governance. A client typically engages it to get a named person accountable for AI oversight, a fractional AI Officer whose time commitment scales with how far the organisation's AI adoption has progressed, instead of hiring a full-time chief AI officer. That officer inventories the AI systems in use, drafts AI policies and governance standards, keeps watch over model bias, accuracy and misuse risks, and prepares the organisation for the EU AI Act; stand-alone EU AI Act readiness assessments, AI impact assessments and AI explainability reviews are also offered. The AI practice sits inside a much larger privacy business, spanning outsourced and interim DPOs, EU and UK GDPR representative services, DSAR response, a data protection advice line and staff training, which has served more than 1,200 organisations since the firm's founding in 2017. Headquartered in London with offices in Amsterdam, Dublin and Toronto, the firm has been part of the Axiom GRC group since 2025. Its public team page lists over a hundred staff, including a data protection officer who holds the AIGP alongside CIPP and CIPM designations. It is not a certification body, and the pages reviewed do not mention ISO 42001 implementation or audit work.
