A-LIGN is a Tampa-based certification body and cybersecurity audit firm whose ISO/IEC 42001 work begins once a company has built an AI management system and needs an accredited certificate, often to answer enterprise procurement or governance questionnaires about its AI products. The firm announced ANAB accreditation for ISO/IEC 42001 in October 2024 and conducts certification audits using the two-stage structure familiar from ISO 27001; it separately offers readiness assessments plus AI risk and impact assessments for organizations that are not yet audit-ready. ISO 42001 sits inside a much larger conformity portfolio spanning SOC 2, ISO 27001, HITRUST, FedRAMP, CMMC, PCI DSS and GDPR-related assessments, delivered by a bench the firm puts at more than sixty ISO auditors. Engagements are scoped per audit and no pricing is published. Offices in Tampa, London, Galway, Sofia, Gurugram and Panama City support a client base the firm counts at over 6,400 organizations worldwide, with Synthesia publicly named as its first ISO 42001 certificate holder in September 2024 and Suzy named as an early client working toward certification. As a certification body it does not build or operate clients' AI management systems, and its own materials note that ISO 42001 certification does not by itself establish EU AI Act legal compliance.
